'Perspective from the Sea' seminar: Dr Paul Merchant, 'On the shores of the mar chileno: Ocean, Nationhood, and Indigeneity in Chilean Visual Culture'.

1 March 2018, 4.00 PM - 1 March 2018, 5.30 PM

First Floor Seminar Room, 7 Woodland Road

The first 'Perspective from the Sea' seminar of 2018 will be held on Thursday, 1 March from 4.00-5.30pm in the First Floor Seminar Room, 7 Woodland Road. Paul Merchant from the Department of Hispanic, Portuguese and Latin American Studies will be giving a short talk (20 minutes or so) on his forthcoming project entitled 'On the shores of the mar chileno: Ocean, Nationhood, and Indigeneity in Chilean Visual Culture'.

After this talk and some Q&A, we will have a broader discussion on maritime studies in and around Bristol. There will also be an opportunity for those attending to learn about one another's work and interests. Wine and nibbles will doubtless facilitate conversations about current projects and future collaborations. All those with a research or teaching interest in the sea are welcome, whether or not they have attended previous cluster events. If you have any questions, please contact Laurence Publicover (L.Publicover@bris.ac.uk).
