William Wootten, Lecturer in Creative Writing and Contemporary Poetry, gives the English Department's research seminar on Walter de la Mare.

Dr Wootten's research interests lie in modern and contemporary poetry in English. His first monograph, The Alvarez Generation: Thom Gunn, Geoffrey Hill, Ted Hughes, Sylvia Plath, and Peter Porter (Liverpool University Press, 2015), was nominated for the University English Book Prize. His debut collection of poetry, You Have A Visitor, appeared in 2016 from the Worple Press. Dr Wootten's current project, currently in preparation, is provisionally entitled, Walter de la Mare and English Poetry.
