What is the relationship between Poetry and breathing?

Life of Breath is hosting a relaxing evening of poetry reading, focused on the relationship between poetry and breathing. 
 
 
When: Friday 29th September from 7-9pm
 
Where: Upstairs room of The Lansdown pub (8 Clifton Road, Bristol BS8 1AF)
 
Whom: Damian Walford Davies from Cardiff University and Bristol-based poet Caleb Parkin will read a selection of their work. Members of the audience are also encouraged to bring along poems to read (of their own if they so wish) relevant to the theme of breathing, with an opportunity for discussion and Q&A afterwards.
About the speakers:
Prof Damian Walford Davies is the head of the School of English, Communication and Philosophy at Cardiff University, where his research interests include Romanticism, twentieth-century poetry, and creative writing. He will be reading from his new work Docklands, a ghost story set in 1890s Cardiff, written entirely in verse.  
Caleb Parkin is a prize-winning poet, performer, artist, facilitator, educator & filmmaker, based in Bristol. His career has encompassed media production, education, the arts, and their therapeutic/wellbeing applications, and he is currently studying for an MSc in Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes with Metanoia Institute.
