This event will consist of a reading and moderated conversation with Don Share, touching on topics including his work as a translator, poet, and editor. Questions will be welcomed from the audience following a discussion led by Dr. Rebecca Kosick (Bristol).
Dr Don Share is editor of Poetry Magazine, and author of three collections of poetry: Wishbone (2012), Squandermania (2007), and Union (2013, 2002). He is the co-editor of The Open Door: 100 Poems, 100 Years of Poetry Magazine (2012), and editor of Bunting's Persia (2012) and a critical edition of Basil Bunting's poems (just out from Faber and Faber). He is translator of Field Guide: Poems by Dario Jaramillo Agudelo (2012), Miguel Hernández (2013), and I Have Lots of Heart: Selected Poems by Miguel Hernández (1998), winner of the Times Literary Supplement Translation Prize and the Premio Valle Inclán for Spanish Translation. His work at Poetry has been recognized with National Magazine Awards for editorial excellence from the American Society of Magazine Editors, and a 2015 CLMP (Community of Literary Magazines and Presses) “Firecracker” Award for editing the Best Poetry Magazine in the US. He received a VIDA “VIDO” Award in 2015 for his “contributions to American literature and literary community.”
