Stoicism and German Philosophy: from Dilthey to Sloterdijk

Overview
This three-day workshop will be the second in the international networking project, Continental Stoicisms. This project is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council of the United Kingdom. The general aim of this workshop is to explore how the interplay between classical Greek and Roman Stoicism and contemporary continental traditions has been and could become poetically and philosophically interesting.
Transportation and Accommodation
We have reserved a limited number of rooms at the Downtown Courtyard Marriott (200 SE 2nd Ave) for $109/night, not including taxes. Please email frances.burkli@dimdev.com if you would like one of these rooms. Transportation from Miami International Airport (MIA) via Trirail to both the hotel and workshop venue is very easy and inexpensive. For the hotel, get off at either the Brickell Station or the Government Center Station. For the workshop, get off at the University Station.
Registration, Fees, and Bursaries for Graduate Students
There is no registration fee. We ask only that you register you intention to attend with the organizer, Kurt Lampe (clkwl@bristol.ac.uk). Bursaries are available to help postgraduate students attend. Please send an email to clkwl@bristol.ac.uk describing in 50-100 words your relevant areas of interest and also your anticipated costs.
