PhD thesis: 'The vanishing Berlin Walls: creatively transforming Berlin's border strip, 1989-2009'

My research is based on Berlin between 1989 and 2009 and takes as its focus selected remains of the Berlin Wall border strip. By investigating the ways in which specific remnants and traces have been transformed through processes of creative interaction, I hope to understand better the ways in which borders and boundaries are aesthetically represented in this city and others.
