Survival: Saving Endangered Migratory Species by Robert Vagg (BA 1984) and Stanley Johnson is both a warning against the threat facing many migratory species and a celebration of their beauty.

The book is produced in conjunction with the UN's Environment Programme's Convention on Migratory Species (CMS), which aims to conserve terrestrial, marine and avian migratory species throughout their range. The need for international conservation efforts is particularly great for migratory species because – in most cases – they cross national boundaries.

Vagg works as a consultant editor for CMS, while Johnson, the journalist, environmental campaigner and former MEP, is an honorary ambassador for the organisation. 

Albatrosses, petrels, raptors, whales, dolphins, antelope, forest elephants and gorillas are just some of the endangered species that are the subject of this meticulously researched and richly illustrated book.
