London Branch Annual Lecture and AGM

The London Branch of University of Bristol Alumni Association is delighted to invite alumni and friends to their 2018 Annual Lecture, AGM, and drinks reception.

Will Hutton (BSc 1972, Hon LLD 2003) will deliver this year's Annual Lecture. Will’s Lecture will reflect on his vision for Britain’s future in a Brexit scenario, drawing on ideas set out in his recently released book Saving Britain: How We Must Change to Prosper in Europe.  

The lecture will be preceded by a short Annual General Meeting of the London Branch of the University of Bristol Alumni Association.

The event will be held at the prestigious British Library (Chaucer Room), a short walk from Kings Cross/ St. Pancras underground station.

About Will Hutton

Will Hutton is Principal of Hertford College, Oxford University; and co-founder of the ‘Big Innovation Centre’, one of Britain’s leading innovation think tanks. He remains a columnist for the Observer, where he was Editor-in-Chief for four years. He began his career in journalism as economics editor for the BBC’s Newsnight, and for the Guardian, following a career in the city.

He is the author of: How Good We Can Be – Ending the Mercenary Society and Building a Great Country; The World We’re In; The Writing on the Wall: China and the West in the 21st Century; and Them and Us: Changing Britain – Why We Need a Fair Society.

Will has also headed up a number of official Commissions, including chairing the Independent Review on University Fees between 2011 and 2014.
