Malaysia | Bristol Connects: career insights

Join your fellow alumni for a career expert panel and networking reception in Kuala Lumpur on Monday 30 October 2017 from 7 pm.

The evening will begin with a panel of University of Bristol alumni experts, speaking about how to make the most of your career. There will be plenty of time for you to put your questions to our panel of experts from a variety of industries and professions. Our panellists have well-established careers in Malaysia so do come and meet them and learn from their expertise and experience since leaving Bristol. You’ll be able to gain insights and make connections that could help you secure your graduate career or take the next step up.

The panel event will be hosted by Dr Erik Lithander, Pro Vice-Chancellor for External Relations, and will be chaired by Nina Sharil Khan (BSc Economics and Acccounting 1998). Nina is highly experienced in business development and the creative industries - and her role as one of the leaders of the University of Bristol Alumni Association in Malaysia makes her ideal to chair our panel of alumni experts. She is looking forward to hearing your questions.

The panel will be made up of experienced alumni experts:

  • Joanne Rodrigues (BSc Economics & Accounting 1996), CFO, Wholesale Bank, and formerly CIMB, can advise on careers in banking and finance
  • Priyanka Sivanath (LLB 2013), Associate at Raja, Darryl & Loh, can advise on securing a role in today's recruitment market
  • Darhim Hashim (BSc Economics with Statistics 1994), Group CEO at Radimax Group Sdn Bhd, is a highly experienced Chief Executive Officer with experience across numerous sectors including hospitality, engineering, retails and healthcare
  • Geetha Kandiah (LLB 2004), Director of Trademarks and Designs Division at KASS International Sdn Bhd, is a trained lawyer specialising in Intellectual Property and has achieved recognition as one of "Malaysia's Top 40 Under 40"

Further panellists are to be announced. Following the panel event, you will have the opportunity to meet more members of the Malaysia alumni network and its distinguished guests. You can reconnect with old friends and take this chance to meet other alumni who can widen your professional circle in a relaxed environment over food and drinks.
