Bristol Alumni Weekend 2019

We welcomed alumni back to the University for the Bristol Alumni Weekend at the end of July, for the chance to rediscover the City of Bristol and learn more about the University today.

The full programme of events open to all alumni included tours, talks, lunches and dinners, with lots of events organised by the Halls Associations.

The Reunion Lunch hosted by the Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Hugh Brady and Chair of the Alumni Association Jonathan Phillips (BSc 1994) evoked memories of graduation ceremonies for our graduates attending. We had graduates spanning seven decades attending from all over the UK as well as Australia, Canada and the USA. Special groups attending included the 1959 Civil Engineers, the 1962 Aerospace Engineers, the 1960 Medics and the 1979 Drama grads.

This year saw a new event taking place in the splendid Auditorium of the Victoria Rooms – an afternoon Tea Dance which celebrated the venue’s past as the home of the Students’ Union. We were treated to a lively show dance performance from past members of the Bristol University Latin American and Ballroom Dancing Society (BULABDS).

The 2020 Alumni Weekend will take place on Friday 17 to Sunday 19 July 2020, with the Reunion Lunch taking place on Saturday 18 July.
