Your role as a Telethon Fundraiser is to ask graduates who studied at Bristol for charitable donations towards the University. In addition you will inform them about what is currently happening at Bristol and answer any queries that they may have. Learn about projects the Telethon helps to fund.
Please note that the Telethon requires fluent English speakers. If you wish to gain employment in order to improve your English language skills please refer to the Careers Service pages which may offer alternative choices for you.
The Autumn campaign runs from 28 October for 5 weeks during the following hours:
There will be no calling from Saturday 16 to Tuesday 19 October. You will be paid £7.48 per hour plus an extra 12.07 per cent holiday pay bonus which will be paid in a lump sum at the end of the campaign on completion of your contract. All students are paid on a monthly basis on the 26th of the month. Callers are required to work an average of three shifts per week.
We will be recruiting for the Spring campaign from the middle of December, when the online application form will be available from here. The deadline for applications will be 16 January and interviews will take place on 21 - 23 January. If you are unable to attend an interview on the dates we advertise, we will not be able to consider your application.
All successful applicants must attend two general training sessions which take place in the week before calling starts. The 2013/14 Autumn campaign training sessions are on Tuesday 22 October and Wednesday 23 October from 18:30 to 21:30. Applicants must also attend one of the software training sessions which will take place on Thursday 24 October from 18:30 to 21:30 and Saturday 26 October from 11:00 to 14:00 or from 14:30 to 17:30.
The dates for the Spring general training will be 28 and 29 January with software training on 30 January or 01 February.
