Joining the Telethon team

We will be recruiting for the autumn 2014 Telethon from mid-September. Look out for our announcement on MyPortal and our advertisement in JobShop. For now, read on to find out more about the job! 

Are you:

Your role as a Telethon Fundraiser is to ask graduates who studied at Bristol for charitable donations towards the University.  In addition you will inform them about what is currently happening at Bristol and answer any queries that they may have.  Learn about projects the Telethon helps to fund.

Please note that the Telethon requires fluent English speakers.  If you wish to gain employment in order to improve your English language skills please refer to the Careers Service pages which may offer alternative choices for you.

Working Hours

The autumn 2014 campaign runs from 27th October to 7th December

You will be paid £7.65 per hour plus an extra 12.07 per cent holiday pay bonus which will be paid in a lump sum at the end of the campaign on completion of your contract.  All students are paid on a monthly basis on the 26th of the month.  Callers are required to work an average of three shifts per week.

There will be a link here to an online application form when recruitment opens. We are currently proposing the following dates for recruitment and training but these may be subject to slight change. The deadline for applications will be 9 October and interviews will take place on 14-16 October. If you are unable to attend an interview on the dates we advertise, we will not be able to consider your application. Applications will be acknowledged by email.

It is a condition of employment that all successful applicants attend the training sessions which take place in the week before calling starts.  The 2014/15 autumn campaign group training sessions will be on 21 and 22 October from 18:30 to 21:30. Applicants must also attend one of the software training sessions which will take place on Thursday 23 October from 18:15 to 21:15 and Saturday 25 October 11:00 to 14:00 and 14:30 to 17:30.
