Undergraduate accommodation application timeline
1 May - first round applications open
You should apply for accommodation as soon as your place to study has been confirmed (you will not be able to access the form before that). When you complete your application you'll need to select three preferred residences, the type of room you'd like, the maximum rent and any other choices. You will need to let us know about any health issues you have that affect your accommodation choice.
30 June - first round applications close
Applications for the first round close on 30 June. If you have not completed your application by midnight on this date, you will no longer be a guaranteed applicant.
15 August - A Level results day
Once your place at the University is confirmed following A Level results day, we begin to allocated students to their rooms.
16 August - second round applications open
If you confirmed your place of study at Bristol after your A level results, or didn't apply in the first round of applications, you can now apply in our second round of applications. Students applying in the second round are not guaranteed an offer of accommodation. Find out more about being a non-guaranteed applicant.
21 August - offers made to first round (guaranteed) applicants
On offers day you will receive an email asking you to log in to our application system where you will be able to view the details of your offer. You will need to formally accept it online to confirm your room.
28 August - first round offer acceptance deadline
If you have not accepted your offer by this date, your accommodation offer will be withdrawn and the room made available to our non-guaranteed applicants.
4 September - offers made to second round (non-guaranteed) applicants
You will receive an email asking you to log in to our application system where you will be able to view the details of your offer. You will need to formally accept it online to confirm your room.
7 September - second round offer acceptance deadline
If you have not accepted your offer by this date, your accommodation offer will be withdrawn and the room made available to another applicant.
9-12 September - House Search event
If required, we'll organise a specialised house-search event for freshers who have not been offered a place in University-allocated accommodation in early September to help you find accommodation in the private sector.
20-22 September - arrivals weekend
You move into your residence on this weekend. You'll receive exact details of the arrival day for your residence, plus how to book a time slot, in your online induction.
