Global Health students present at The ICDD 2015: XIII International Conference on Disability and Diversity - London
17 March 2015
Poster presentation - The Deprivation of Human Rights Experienced by African Children with Disabilities by Anna Wiltshire and Rebecca Markham has been accepted for poster presentation as well as inclusion in the conference proceedings of the ICDD 2015: International Conference on Disability and Diversity held in London during February, 16-17, 2015.
Anna and Rebecca, both medical students taking a one year intercalated BSc course in Global Health, were asked to present at the Conference on Disability and Diversity in February 2015.
The aim of the conference is to bring together leading academic scientists, researchers and research scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results about all aspects of Disability and Diversity. It also provides the premier interdisciplinary forum for researchers, practitioners and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns, practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted in the field of Disability and Diversity. The Poster (PDF, 1,108kB) presented by both was well received. Dr Matthew Ellis, Director of the course, stated ‘we can all do small things in a great way, Anna and Rebecca, with their focus on child rights, have shown us how to do that - it's a great achievement’.
Future plans for them both, include study visits to Uganda and New Zealand.
