UNICEF award Dr Peter Blair
13 July 2009
Lord David Puttnam presents Peter Blair with fellowship at AGM. Peter has been advising UNICEF with their Baby Friendly Initiative campaign.
UNICEF UK established the awards of Honorary Fellowships in 2002 to recognise outstanding contributions from a limited number of long-term supporters of UNICEF in the fields of advocacy, communications and fundraising - the first recipients included the MP Claire Short, Duncan Bannatyne (from TV's Dragon's Den) and Peter Kenyon (the former chief executive of Manchester United). At the AGM this year Dr Peter Blair was one of 3 candidates to be awarded this fellowship by the out-going president of UNICEF UK Lord David Puttnam. Peter has been advising UNICEF with their Baby Friendly Initiative campaign in regard to infant care practices stemming from his work relating to risk reduction messages associated with Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
