Port of Gloucester, 11 June 1582Manuscript: TNA SP46/32 fo. 250 A letter from Lord Burghley, the Lord Treasurer of England, to Thomas Fanshawe, Queen's Remembrancer of the Exchequer, who was responsible for customs and subsidies. The letter concerns the Bristol Petition that Gloucester cease to be a Head Port, 1582 and was sent from Burghley's manor of Theobalds in Cheshunt , Hertfordshire.
